Addie M. Filson

Addie M. Filson, 78, passed away Tuesday evening, February 28, 2017 at Medicalodge Nursing Home in Coffeyville, Kansas.Addie May Filson was born May 28, 1938 in Purcell, Oklahoma the daughter of Marion D. Laney and Essie Pearl (Storey) Laney. She grew up in Coffeyville and attended Coffeyville Schools.She was united in marriage to LaVerne Hall and they were later divorced. On December 23, 1964 in Miami, Oklahoma she was united in marriage to John Harley Filson and he preceded her in death July of 1999.When she was younger, Addie modeled for the Coffeyville Journal and Sears. She later worked as a waitress at New Castle Caf" in Coffeyville.She was also an inspector for the Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons, Kansas, the owner of T-Bone Caf" in Edna, Kansas, a welder for Haliburton in Coffeyville and she retired from Power Flame in Parsons.Addie loved to dance, cook and was very competitive at playing cards and board games. She also loved to go shopping with her sister, even though they never bought anything.Survivors include children, Shelley Hall Davis of Independence, Kansas, Kari Filson " Baker of Monkey Island, Oklahoma, Kira Filson " McDonald of Edna, Kansas, sister, Bonnie Richards of Coffeyville, Kansas, granddaughters, Harli Jo Johnson and JaLynn Johnson.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Larry Hall.Cremation has taken place under the guidance of Wickham Family Funeral of Cherryvale.
