STEVE C. FRASER [October 5, 1948 - July 6, 2016] Steve and his twin brother, John, we're born to Sgt. John M. Fraser and Mary Katherine Knoll Fraser. John was born 14 minutes before Steve in a military hospital in Denver, Colorado. They were a military family and moved a lot; mostly lived on military bases in the USA, which included Colorado, Hawaii, California, Oregon, Mississippi, and Texas. In 1964, Sgt. John M. Fraser moved his family to his parents' farm in Altoona, Kansas. In 1965, Steve enlisted in the Navy; he was 17 1/2 years old. Steve C. Fraser was in the US Navy from 1965-1969 and in the Navy Reserves from 1970-1974. During the 1960's, he was assigned to the USS Weiss. While this small ship was at sea, they received a call to help with the Vietnam War. In March of 1969, Steve's twin brother passed away. Steve moved back to Altoona, Kansas. Eventually, he moved to Fredonia, Kansas. In the beginning, he worked for the City of Fredonia and Wilson County. In 1977, he was hired by the cement plant. Due to health, he retired from LaFarge in 2010. In 1981, Steve was introduced to Sharon. Sharon introduced him to her three children, Julie, Jennifer, and Jason. Steve C. Fraser provided for Sharon and her three children. His wife, Sharon, survives at their home. Other survivors include: David, Julie [Elliott], Erin, and Abigail (Abby) Hoskins of Georgetown, South Carolina; Michael, Jennifer [Elliott], Britton, Olivia, Tyler, and Amelia Hohler of Joplin, Missouri; Jason, Tera, Craig, Catherine (Catie) and Cody Elliott of Erie, Kansas. His brother, Dale, and his wife, Elaine, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his sister, Sherry Cope, of Altoona, Kansas. His parents and twin brother preceded him in death. Family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time Friday, July 8, 2016 at Timmons Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 8, 2016 at Timmons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Fredonia City Cemetery. Memorials have been suggested to the youth and children's ministries at First Assembly of God in Fredonia, Kansas.
