Kathy May (Puckett) Boden

May 3, 1963 — February 10, 2014

Kathy May (Puckett) Boden, 50, a beloved lifelong resident of Wilson County, Kansas left this earth to join her Heavenly Father on February 10, 2014. She was born May 3, 1963 in Fredonia, the daughter of Steve Puckett and Glenda (Pullan) Puckett-Halper. She was one of five children. Kathy was a 1981 graduate of Fredonia High School. She began working at Fredonia Regional Hospital before graduating from high school and was finally fortunate enough to pursue her career in nursing in 1987. In 1990, she graduated from Neosho County Community College as a Registered Nurse. She continued her career at Fredonia Regional Hospital for more than 30 years. Kathy continued her education at Oklahoma Wesleyan University and received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 2010. Prior to receiving her BSN, for the love for the Lord, she became an ordained minister and she performed a number of weddings and funeral. On March 24, 2011 in Miami, Oklahoma, Kathy was united in marriage to the love of her life, Darwin Boden. Dar survives her at their home. Kathy treasured every moment that she had with Dar, though their time together was far too short. Kathy was a member of the Church of God in Fredonia and loved the Lord with all of her heart and soul. She was a beautiful person and she loved life and always had a smile on her face. Kathy dearly loved people. She loved ministering to anyone she met. She had a very special zest for life that drew people to her. She was loved by everyone that knew her and will be missed by all. In addition to her husband, Dar, she is survived by: Her mother & Stepfather: Glenda & Mike Halper of Fredonia, KS Sons: Brandon Reddick of Fredonia, KS Chris Reddick of Fredonia, KS Josh Boden of Fredonia, KS Brothers: Carl Puckett of Fredonia, KS Mike Puckett of Fredonia, KS Aaron Puckett of Fredonia, KS Sister: Dena Weller of Wichita, KS Ten grandchildren Her father, Steve Puckett and her son, Steve Reddick, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, February 14, 2014 at the First Assembly of God Church in Fredonia. Burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 13th at the funeral home. The Kathy Boden Memorial Nursing Scholarship Fund has been established and contributions can be sent to or left with Timmons Funeral Home. Words of condolence may be left on this website.
