Dennis L. Smith

Dennis Smith, 63, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away on June 6, 2023, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center.

Dennis was born on December 28, 1959, in Pittsburg, Kansas to Charlie R. Smith and Virginia (Petty) Smith. After his education, he joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country.

Dennis owned and operated his own roofing company. He enjoyed coin collecting, and fishing, and was a sports fanatic loving the Kansas City Chiefs most of all.

Dennis was not one to complain much and was appreciative and thankful for his family and friends that helped him through his illness, and generally always had a smile.

He is survived by his sons; Derrick Smith, and Michael Harris both of Chanute, KS, his sister; Charlia (Butch Mitchner of Chanute, KS, his brother; Charlie (Ellen) Smith of Virginia, and his three grandchildren; Xavier, Brayson, and Alley Harris.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, and two sisters.

Celebration of Life memorial service will be held, on July 1, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Lincoln Center Building, Lincoln Park, Pittsburg, KS.

Services are under the guidance of Wickham Family Funeral Home 500 N. Forest Ave. Chanute, KS.
