WAYNE FRANK MCNICKLEWayne F. McNickle, 94, of Cherryvale and formerly of Mound Valley, Kansas passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas.Wayne Frank McNickle was born March 23, 1921 in Aline, Oklahoma the son of Chester McNickle and Gladys (Cline) McNickle. He grew up and attended school in Aline, Oklahoma.On May 14, 1938 in Cherokee, Oklahoma he was united in marriage to Burnes Pauline Parker and she preceded him in death April 25, 2008.Wayne enjoyed collecting coins and guns, and loved being outdoors especially to hunt and fish. He cherished being around his family and most recently going to his grandkids ball games. Wayne was known to be honest and a hard worker. He set a good example for his family to follow.Wayne worked at Continental Can in Coffeyville, Labette County Co-op in Mound Valley, Helms Oil Co. in Mound Valley. In 1971 was co-owner of Cherry Bowl bowling alley in Cherryvale for 11 years. In his later years he was a farmer and rancher.Survivors include 4 sons, Earnest McNickle and his wife Karen of Arlington, Texas, Larry McNickle and his wife Barbara of Cherryvale, Kenneth McNickle and his wife Connie of Cherryvale, Keith McNickle of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, daughter in law, Carolyn McNickle of Cherryvale, one brother, Bernard "Bernie" McNickle of Edmond, Oklahoma, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald McNickle and one grandson Scott McNickle.Graveside services will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday, February 29, 2016 at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale. Friends may sign the register book from 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. with the family receiving friends from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. Sunday, February 28, 2016"at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas.In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorial remembrances to the Mound Valley School and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
