VIVIAN RUTH HUCKERuth Hucke, 92 of Cherryvale, KS passed away Wednesday evening at her home.Vivian Ruth (Jarrett) Hucke was born October 29, 1922 in Dennis, Kansas the daughter of William W. Jarrett and Agnes Caroline (Skellinger) Jarrett.She grew up and attended schools in Dennis, Kansas.On December 25, 1939 Ruth married Verdon Lowell Hucke of Mound Valley, Kansas at the Methodist Church in Dennis and celebrated 62 years together. They made their home on a farm near Mound Valley and later sold the farm and moved to Altamont. Verdon died January 30, 2002 and Ruth moved to Cherryvale in 2005 to be closer to family.In 1955 Ruth worked for Lee Manufacturing in Cherryvale until 1956. She later worked at Fred Ronald Stevie Togs Manufacturing in Parsons for many years until health reasons caused her to retire.She was a member of the New Hope Christian Church in Cherryvale.Survivors include, son, Charles Hucke and his wife Sue of Cherryvale, two daughters, Sharon Hunt of Colorado, Springs, CO, Velma Morain of Copan, OK, eight grandchildren, Randy (Liz) Hucke of Cherryvale, Kelly Hucke of Cherryvale, Paula (Steve) Corn of Independence, KS, Shelley (Kim) Wilcox of Ottawa, KS, Shawn (Ana Paula) Mumy of Ardmore, OK, Laura (Michael) Acresti of Colorado Springs, CO, Donya (Richard) Rankin of Broken Arrow, OK, Jarrett (Janey) Morain of Bartlesville, OK, twenty five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded n death by her parents, sister Sarah Susan Darling and brother James Grant Jarrett.Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 17, 2014 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th Street, Cherryvale, KS.Friends may sign the register book from 9:00 A.M. until service time Monday with the family greeting friends from 12:30 P.M. until service time. Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale.Memorial remembrances are suggested to the New Hope Christian Church or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
