Jerry Boyd (Emma G. Boyd)Jerry Boyd, passed from this life on September 27, 2015, just 3 days shy of the 65th anniversary of her wedding to Ed Boyd (Homer E. Boyd) who preceded her in death in 2005. For the last year she had resided, near to family, at Brookside Retirement Community in Overbrook, Kansas.Jerry was born Emma Geraldine Watchous, Dec. 3, 1931, the sixth born of 13 children issued from Art Watchous and Loretta Spear Watchous. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Helen, Eleanor, La Fern, Patricia, Yvonne, Barbara, Mildred and Bertha, also brothers Theodore, Albert and Kenneth. Jerry is survived by her youngest sister Ginny (Virginia) of Bastrop, Texas.Jerry and Ed have two sons Bruce and his wife Dana, Mark and his wife Connie. Five grandchildren: Traci, Michelle, Judith, Perry and Henry. Two great grandchildren: Alden and Aaron.Jerry and Ed first lived together in Kansas City where Ed was recalled to active duty in the Air Force. From there to California, Washington, Texas, California again, Florida, Indiana, Nebraska, Texas again, Missouri, then Cherryvale, Kansas. Her life as the wife of an officer led to her involvement in all manner of service as a wife, mom and social circles. After settling into retirement in Cherryvale, Kansas, she enjoyed her grandchildren, travel, bowling, bingo, gardening, and her many friends.Services will be held in Cherryvale, Kansas. October 2, 2015, 6:30-8:00pm visitation. Funeral service October 3, 2015, 10:30am, Wickham Family Funeral Home.Jerry was much beloved and never met a stranger. She had a great smile that warmed you up. She will be missed by many both near and far.The family would ask that you practice some random ACT OF KINDNESS to anyone, anywhere."
